Bill Matthews

Bill Mathews is a Seattle artist that has done a lot for the local arts and music scene over the years. Founder of the Fremont Drum School Bill has hosted many great music events and teaches drumming at his studio. Bill grew up around painters and poets and studied painting at Pitzer collage.  His list of most important/influential people are Picasso, Matisse, Klee, Miro, Georgia O’Keefe, Richard Diebenkorn, Milton Avery, Stuart Davis, the desert paintings of Aboriginal Australians, Huichol Indian yarn paintings, Haitian paintings, Henri Rousseau, Chagall, The Futurists, Mark Rothko, Balthus, Arthur Yanoff, Paul Shapiro, Diego Rivera.
